Myth Buster!!

Church "done Jesus's way "is the answer to loneliness.  You have heard it said before there is no perfect church.  However, there are still some churches that can love you and lead you to
Christ.  You have a part in the process. I have had two pastors that have made a huge impact on my life, Pastor(s) Evelyn&Elbert Gardner (who I consider as one) out of St. Petersburg, FL and Pastor Aaron Barnes and his wife Judith Barnes.

Often times we are fooled that church is within us, we can stay at home and know God.  That is not truth.  God sent Jesus to die for the church, the church is here to teach us how to have life and life more abundantly.  Life is not intended to break us down mentally, physically, spiritually or financially.  Come to Church and break the myth.  Come get your questions answered.  Be my guest.

Pastor Aaron Barnes

The Pastor of New Life in Jesus is affectionately known simply as "Pastor".   Pastor's living and teaching the Word has made an impact on me.  I get the Word that helped to annihilate mental illness and helped me stand as an adult in the Word.  I came to New Life battered and feeling unloved. Pastor and his wife Judith's patience, love and knowledge pulled me through.  This blog does not contain enough giga or megabytes to hold the countless prayers, laughter, correction and patience that Pastor Barnes has provided for me and my family.  He leads by example and has the respect of so many.  Although, I lovingly call him my father, I esteem him as the man of God that he is.

One of the most remarkable qualities of Pastor is his unwavering commitment to God and outreach. Whether it's teaching every Sunday and Wednesday, counseling his flock, or mentoring the next generation of leaders, Pastor embodies the spirit of selflessness and compassion. His tireless dedication to helping others extends far beyond the walls of the church, touching countless lives in tangible and meaningful ways. It’s not just about preaching the Word—it’s about living it daily and inspiring others to do the same. You’ll find that his influence is felt not only in his sermons but in the way he empowers individuals to believe in their worth and potential.

He is waiting to be the same for you.  Come say hello!

New Life in Jesus Ministry

Be my guest any Sunday or Wednesday.  Often time, I find that we as the church need to get back to our first love and that is loving on God. Many times, we concentrate on the semantics of church but leave out the Man that created Church.  We are so busy making the church a sanctuary for the world that we change the church to look like the world.  There are many churches call out to simply preach, teach and live the Kingdom of God and New Life in Jesus Ministry is one of them.  Stop by and let us love on you.

My Spiritual Prayer Warriors

Pastor(s) Elbert & Evelyn Gardner

Life is full of twists, turns, and challenges that can sometimes leave us feeling lost. Yet, through it all, God remains steadfast. I hold close the scripture, "I will never leave you or forsake you." It reminds me of His unwavering presence, even during uncertain times. When I found myself feeling directionless in St. Petersburg, FL, taking what I thought was a leap of faith to pursue my dream of becoming a retail buyer with Dillard's, things didn’t always go as planned. God didn’t prevent the wrong turns, but He used them to teach me valuable lessons. Along the way, He placed spiritual guides in my life, like Pastor Gardner and his wife, who became my anchors during that season. Their prayers and support were a testament to the truth that "the prayers of the righteous avail much." When God eventually called me back to Alabama, I left behind the turmoil of that chapter, but I carried with me an unshakable sense of joy. To this day, Pastor Gardner—known by many as “Sarg,” a title of honor earned from his distinguished military service—remains a source of encouragement and prayer for me and my family. He sends daily texts of inspiration, offers prayers during holidays, and continually reminds me of God’s faithfulness in our lives.
